Policy: Board Orientation Program

PURPOSE :

  • To ensure that new Board members become familiar with the Credit Valley Hospital, the Credit Valley Volunteer Partner Organization, and the Board process

 

POLICY :

  • All new Board members will take part in an orientation program
  • The program will include information sharing, one-on-one  meetings, and a hospital tour

 

PROCEDURE:

  • The Board President will introduce new member to the CVH Volunteer Partner website material, reviewing key components in detail
    • the Strategic Plan
    • the Financial plan
    • the Position descriptions
    • the Bylaws
    • the Board membership
    • the Board meeting schedule.
    • The Director of Volunteer Resources will :
      • explain the operation of the Volunteer Resources department
      • provide a tour of the hospital
      • share hospital operating  initiatives and statistics
        • staff, patient, volunteer volumes
        • treatment foci
        • growth plans
