- The existing facility covers approximately 770,000 square feet.
- The hospital provides a broad spectrum of clinical services involving ten programs: general medicine, surgery, renal, oncology, emergency, mental health, continuing care/rehabilitation, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics and cardiac services and a network of support departments. The professional staff provides a regional service for medical genetics, oncology, maternal/child and renal dialysis.
- In June 2005 the hospital officially opened The Carlo Fidani Peel Regional Cancer Centre and the Vijay Jeet and Neena Kanwar Ambulatory Care Centre. A further expansion of the inpatient wing will commence in fiscal year 2007/08. This expansion will house an additional 140 inpatient beds as well as the regional maternal/child centre.
- In June 2006, the hospital received a three-year accreditation, the highest possible award, from the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation.
- In June 2000 and again in June 2001,The Credit Valley Hospital, along with the other health service providers in the Halton/Peel Region, placed second in all categories in the annual Maclean's Magazine Survey of Canadian health services.
- Approximately 6,000 visitors and patients pass through the three main entrances of the hospital each day.
- Each year approximately 20,000 patients are admitted to hospital.
- Close to 70,000 patients are seen in the Emergency Department each year. Approximately 1/3 of those visits are paediatric visits.
- Approximately 15,500 surgeries are performed at Credit Valley each year.
- Approximately 320,000 outpatients are seen at Credit Valley each year.
- More than 5,000 babies are born in the hospital each year.
- In 1999/00 we delivered 44 sets of twins, 1 set of triplets.
- Close to 400 physicians have privileges at the hospital. This means they are able to admit patients to the hospital and can perform various procedures.
- Close to 800 men, women and young adults volunteer their time to Credit Valley each year.
