Alan Torrie
Board Chair

Alan is President & CEO of Morneau Shepell Limited, the largest Canadian-owned firm providing human resource consulting and outsourcing services in the areas of pensions, benefits and employee health and assistance programs. Prior to joining Morneau Shepell, Alan held senior executive positions over 25 years in Canadian health care and health and life science companies as Chief Operating Officer of Retirement Residence REIT (Revera), President and CEO of MDS Laboratories and CEO of Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital.
He has served on numerous community Boards as past chair and Director of AMREF (African Medical Research and Education Foundation), and is currently on the Board of Appleby College.
Alan joined the Trillium Board in 2008 and currently serves as Vice Chair. Previously, Alan also held the role of Chair of Quality Committee.
Nicholas Zelenczuk
Board Treasurer

Nick is the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (“CPPIB”), a professional investment management organization that invests the funds not needed by the Canada Pension Plan to pay current benefits on behalf of 17 million Canadian contributors and beneficiaries. Nick has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry and prior to joining CPPIB, was Senior Vice-President, Audit and Risk Management for BCE Inc. Earlier in his career, he served as President and CEO of Deutsche Bank Canada, was a partner with KPMG LLP in their Advisory Services Group, and has held a variety of senior financial positions at CIBC Wood Gundy and at Citibank Canada.
Nick holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario. Nick is active on a number of other boards including the CICA Canadian Performance Reporting Board, the Wellesley Institute and Opera Atelier.
Nick joined the Trillium Board in 2008 and has served as: Chair of Resources Committee, Chair of Audit Committee, and Treasurer.
Sacha Ghai

Sacha Ghai is a Partner in the Toronto office of McKinsey & Company, a global management consulting firm. Sacha leads the Canadian Financial Services practice, and is a co-founder of the Institutional Investor practice. Sacha has deep financial services experience in private equity, venture capital, banking and insurance.
Sacha has also pursued a strong interest in macroeconomics and has written extensively on the impact of demographic change on global capital markets. His work has been presented at the World Economic Forum and has appeared in various leading publications. Sacha received a B.A.Sc. in Biochemistry from McMaster University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Sacha joined the Board of Trillium in 2010 and has served on the Board's Quality Committee.
Joanne Rogers

Joanne Rogers is an assurance partner with Grant Thornton LLP with in excess of 30 years experience. Her practice focuses on publicly listed entities and publicly accountable organizations including public sector entities and larger not-for-profit entities. She is leader of Grant Thornton's Public Sector practice group for Southern Ontario. Joanne is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration. Joanne is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (ICAO) and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA). She has served on the ICAO Professional Conduct Committee, the Practice Inspection Committee of the ICAO and the CICA's Assurance Services Development Board. As well, Joanne has served two terms on Grant Thornton's Policy Board.
Joanne has been a volunteer Board member for Mississauga Arts Council, Peel Lunch & After School Program (PLASP), and Peel HIV/AIDS Network. During her six year term on the Board of PLASP, she served as Treasurer and Chair of the Board.
Joanne has served on The Credit Valley Hospital's Board of Directors since 2002, and has held the positions of: Board Chair; Chair of Executive Committee, Chair and Vice Chair, Resources Committee; Chair, Audit Committee; Vice Chair, Performance Monitoring; and Vice Chair, Investment and Capital Financing Sub Committee. During her two year term as Chair of the Board of CVH, Joanne was also an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors of Credit Valley Hospital Foundation.
William Rogers

Bill Rogers is the managing director and CEO of CCC Investment Banking, a mid-market investment banking firm specializing in corporate finance, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. Bill joined CCC in 1980 and has been in corporate finance for more than 30 years. His areas of expertise include financing, restructuring, value-creation strategies, advising the boards of public and private companies and corporate governance.
Bill has served on the boards of SIR Royalty Income Fund, Cuddy International Corporation, Trust Mark Auto Group Inc. and on the Advisory Board of Corbec Corporation. Bill has successfully completed the Directors Education Program offered by the Institute of Corporate Directors at the Rotman School of Business.
Bill is currently the Board Chair of the Trillium Health Centre. He has served on the Board since 2003, and has held roles as a member of the Governance Committee, Community Advisory Committee, Quality Committee and Resources Committee. He also served as Chair of the Quality Committee, Chair of the Information management Sub Committee and as Vice Chair.
Neil Skelding

As president & CEO of RBC Insurance, Neil Skelding has global responsibility for RBC's insurance businesses, including life and health, home and auto, travel, as well as global reinsurance.
Mr. Skelding joined RBC Insurance in January 2003 as executive vice-president, Life Operations, and also served as President and CEO of RBC Life Insurance Company. Prior to working for RBC Insurance, Mr. Skelding held a number of senior positions in the Canadian insurance industry with Transamerica Life Canada, and Zurich Canada. He was appointed to his current position in September 2004.
Mr. Skelding has a bachelor of technology in mechanical engineering and an MBA in Finance. Mr. Skelding holds several industry related roles as Chair of the Industry advisory committee of Assuris and Chair of the Standing Committee on Marketplace relations for the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association, where he is also a director. He is past chair of the Canadian Association of Financial Institutions in Insurance (CAFII) and a member of the Young President's Organization (YPO).
Mr. Skelding is active in the community as a member of the Board of Directors of The Credit Valley Hospital. He joined the Board at Credit Valley in 2009 and has served as Treasurer and Chair of the Resources Committee, Treasurer and Vice Chair of the Board, and most recently as Chair of the Board. Mr. Skelding is also on the Principal's Advisory Council for the University of Toronto (Mississauga campus). Mr. Skelding is a member of the Pension Committee at McMaster University and serves on McMaster University's Campaign Cabinet. In April 2009, Mr. Skelding was awarded the Wayne C. Fox Distinguished Alumni Award from McMaster University's DeGroote School of Business.
Pam Turner

Pam Turner is a retired business leader with extensive operations experience with Bell Canada and in business development with CGI (IT Services). Pam has led large teams focused on delivering quality customer service and new product introduction in an environment of continuous change. As Director Business Development at CGI, she specialized in building strong client relationships and strategic business planning and communications.
Pam has been an active volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society, Skills for Employment Life and Family (formerly The Peel Literacy Guild) and the Alzheimer Society Peel. Pam Turner is the past President of the Credit Valley Hospital Volunteer Partners. Pam has been a volunteer with Credit Valley since 2005 and on the Executive Board of the Volunteer Partners since 2006. As Chair of the Volunteer Partner Board, Pam led the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategic plan that provides direction for the hospital's 1,100 volunteers who donate over 100,000 hours of time annually.
Pam joined the Board of Credit Valley in 2009 and has served as: Vice Chair, Quality and Performance; Vice Chair, Human Resources; and Board representative to Ethics Committee.
Karen Wensley

Karen Wensley is a private consultant, providing HR related services including executive coaching and facilitation as well as consulting services to the federal government on R&D policy. She is also a Lecturer on Business Ethics at the University of Waterloo, and a Volunteer mentor with the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council.
Before her retirement, Karen was a Partner at Ernst & Young with overall responsibility for the HR functions of Ernst & Young Canada, including recruiting, leadership development, diversity and inclusiveness strategies, compensation and benefits, and alumni relations. Prior to 2005, Karen was a tax partner at Ernst & Young, specializing in clients in the health care, biotechnology and IT industries. She worked with research hospitals on setting up structures to facilitate private funding of R&D in those institutions. She also worked extensively with the Boards of Directors and Audit Committees of her large clients.
Karen has served as Member of the Board of Directors of the Information Technology Association of Canada; Member, Expert Panel to review the CA School of Business training program; Member, Council of HR Executives; Board of Directors, Association for Bright Children; Board of Directors, Malignant Hyperthermia Association. Karen has a BA from the University of Michigan and an MBA from McMaster.
Karen applied through the Board recruitment process with Trillium in 2011 and was a shortlisted candidate. Karen's potential appointment to the Trillium Board was deferred due to the pending merger of the two hospitals.
Tim McGuire

Tim McGuire is a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company, a leading global strategy consulting firm. Tim serves a broad base of North American and global companies predominantly in the retail and consumer goods and services sectors. Specializing in strategy, operations improvements, and growth programs, he works with Boards of Directors and senior management teams to develop strategies and drive successful implementation. Tim leads McKinsey's global Consumer Marketing practice. Tim was previously a Marketing Director at Procter and Gamble, and he is a graduate of the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
Tim has served on the Board of Trustees of United Way of Toronto and has been an active fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society.
Tim joined the Board of Credit Valley in 2009. He has served as Chair, Quality and Performance; Board representative to MAC; and member of the Executive committee.
Edward Sellers

Edward is a senior partner in the business law department and former chair of the restructuring practice group at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt. At Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt, Edward provides mission-critical advice to clients on commercial matters with an emphasis on restructurings and related acquisitions divestitures, financings and governance. Involved in complex cross-border cases for over 20 years, he has served as counsel to: major corporations; senior lending syndicates and agents; equity sponsors; and governments and crown agencies.
He is a graduate of the Directors Education Program sponsored by the Institute of Corporate Directors at the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management and a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
Edward's community leadership includes having served on the University of Winnipeg Board of Regents and the University of Manitoba Senate, as director and executive committee member of the Canadian Youth Business Foundation, and as director of The St. Patrick's Benevolent Society of Toronto.
Edward joined the Trillium Board in 2007 and has served as: Board Secretary and as a Community Advisory Committee, Governance, and Quality Committee Member.
Wayne Bossert

Wayne Bossert leads RBC's personal and business sales forces across Canada. He is responsible for ensuring a customer centric delivery model which provides leading client satisfaction, revenue growth and operating efficiency. Prior to his first executive appointment in 1999 as Vice President, Sales Strategy, he held various administrative, human resource management, and sales leadership roles throughout the Prairies, Montreal and Toronto.
Wayne serves as a Director of Symcor Inc., RBC Direct Investing, RBC Global Asset Management Inc., and Royal Trust Corporation. He also chairs the Board of Royal Mutual Funds Inc. and serves on the Audit & Resources Committee for The Trillium Health Centre in Mississauga.
Wayne graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1987, and then earned a Fellowship in the Institute of Canadian Bankers in 1998. In 2001, he earned a diploma in the International Masters Program in Practicing Management from France's INSEAD University and then a Masters Degree in Management Studies from McGill University.
Wayne applied through the Board recruitment process with Trillium in 2011 and was a shortlisted candidate. Wayne's potential appointment to the Trillium Board was deferred due to the pending merger of the two hospitals.
Lee Stem

Lee Stem is an executive consultant with over 35 years of business experience. Lee has held executive leadership positions for several organizations including VP, Information and Technology, for the Insurance Bureau of Canada and CIO for the Toronto District School Board. He has also held positions in strategic planning for: Canadian Tire Corporation, Firmware Inc., Aetna Canada, and Lever Brothers. Lee is a founding partner with Chartwell Inc., a consulting company focused on applying information technology to improving business results. He managed and grew this services company (founded in 1984) from the ground up into a profitable business with offices across Canada. As Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of this successful consulting company over a 20+ year period, and personally leading more than 50 consulting engagements, he has accumulated an invaluable wealth of business experience. Chartwell has been sold and amalgamated into the consulting operations of KPMG Canada.
Lee holds a B.Sc. computer science from U of T and holds Enhanced Reliability Security Status.
Lee joined the Board of Credit Valley in 2008. He currently serves as Treasurer and has also held the following positions previously: Chair and Vice Chair, Resources; and Vice Chair, Performance Monitoring.
Fred Kuntz

Fred Kuntz is Vice President of Public Affairs at The Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI), an independent, non-partisan think tank on global governance. He was editor-in-chief of The Toronto Star (Canada’s largest-circulation newspaper) and its website, thestar.com, from 2006 to 2008. Prior to that he was group publisher of Grand River Media and associate editor of The Globe and Mail. He also held various positions over 20 years at the Toronto Star including city editor and business editor.
Fred has a BA in journalism from Ryerson University, an honorary doctorate of letters from Wilfrid Laurier University and an ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors. Previous board roles include the Trillium Health Centre, Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery, Rotary Club of Kitchener and Salvation Army Community Advisory Board in Waterloo Region. In 2006, Fred won the Michael R. Follett award for “Community Leader of the Year” in Kitchener Waterloo.
Fred joined the Trillium board in 2009 and has served as a Governance Committee member.
